Where Were You? Display

We've just finished our 'Where Were You?' display on the big wall outside Miss Speirs room. We used the giant spaceman we painted and added some of our acrostic 'Space' poems to complete the wall. The display asks people if they can remember where they were in July 1969 when we landed on the moon.
If you were alive and can remember - please post a comment here to tell us where you were on the night Neil Armstrong made his famous 'small step'!

  1. I hate to admit this, but I had just got married two months earlier. We didn't have a television at the time but we listened to the report on the radio. It was such an exciting achievement!

  2. I remember watching the landing on a black and white tv with my mum and dad in our house in Bathgate.

  3. I am afraid I was too young to remember this. Would have been very exciting though !

  4. I was at home in Dundee with my mother, father and sister Pauline. As it was anticipated that the Armstrong's first walk on the moon would take place in the early morning UK time, I did not go to bed but spent the night in a sleeping bag in front of the television watching the programme which showed the preparations on the moon and at NASA. When it became apparent that Armstrong's walk was about to take place, I woke my parents and sister and we watched the walk as a family. Arron and Evan's Grandad Chambers
