Fantastic Fitness Fun!

Today we were at the hall doing P.E. We talked about the importance of warming up and played some great warm-up games.

Phew!

Zoom A Little Zoom!

This song combines our 60s topic and our space topic. We're going to learn it in class but I thought I'd put it up here for you to enjoy and learn!

A Small Step... Beginning the Space Topic!

Today we started our science topic for this term which is on 'Space'. It was 40 years in July since mankind landed on the moon in 1969. This is perfect for us as we're looking at the 60s in history!
Today we were target setting in pairs and groups to decide the questions we would like answered. Here are some of the best ones:

'How close do you have to get to the sun before you melt?'

'Can man survive on the moon?'

'Why do stars exist?'

'Is the sun a planet?'

'Who was the first person in space?'

First Day!

At the end of our first day we've accomplished a lot and we all seem glad to be back to school! Arrangements for P4/5 for the coming term are as follows:

Trip uniform on a Monday as it is P.E day.

Trip uniform on a Tuesday as it is our trip day.

Formal uniform for the rest of the week.

Trips for this term will begin next week and we will be going to Largs to the National Sports Centre for trampolining lessons in the morning.

Our topics this term are 'The 60's' in history and 'Space' in science.

The children have pasted sheets into their homework jotters which have important information about their passwords for the school computer network. They also have a school email address which will be useful as the year goes on. More information on checking email will come soon...

Many thanks

Groups!

The class will be divided into four teams which will each gather reward points over the course of the week. The topics we are covering this first part of the year are 'The 60's' and in science - 'Space'. The group names are classic 'spacey' characters which the parents may remember!
Dan Dare!

Yoda!

Marvin the Martian!

The Jetsons!

The children will find out day 1 which group they are in and we look forward to healthy competition for points and healthy rewards at the end of each week!
